Karma is one of the fundamental truths of life. No living being can remain untouched by it. Every thought we think, every word we speak, and every action we perform becomes a part of our karmic journey. Karma is not limited to visible actions alone; our intentions, emotions, and inner motives are equally important. Perhaps that is why ancient wisdom has always regarded karma as one of the governing principles of existence.
Sometimes I pause and wonder about the sheer magnitude of life on this planet. Billions of human beings, countless animals, birds, insects, and other forms of life coexist on Earth. Every moment, each one of them is performing actions, making choices, creating consequences, and influencing the world around them.
From an accounting perspective, it is fascinating to imagine the scale of this activity. Every day, trillions of visible and invisible transactions are taking place. Acts of kindness, moments of compassion, selfless service, honesty, deception, generosity, anger, love, and hatred — all of them contribute to an ongoing ledger of life.
This naturally raises an intriguing question: Who keeps track of it all?
Whether we call it God, the Universe, Nature, or a Higher Consciousness, there seems to be an invisible system that records every karmic transaction with remarkable precision. It is a database so vast and sophisticated that no human technology can compare to it.
There are no missing entries, no reconciliation differences, no accounting errors, no data corruption, and no unbalanced accounts. Every thought, every intention, every word, and every deed finds its place in this cosmic ledger. Nothing is overlooked, and nothing is forgotten.
Human beings have created extraordinary systems — advanced computers, artificial intelligence, and powerful databases capable of processing unimaginable amounts of information. Yet even the most sophisticated systems can fail. They can crash, lose data, or produce errors.
The law of karma, however, appears to operate with flawless accuracy. It requires no audits, no corrections, and no external supervision. It functions beyond bias, influence, recommendation, or favouritism. It recognizes only one thing: the true nature of our actions and the intentions behind them.
The most comforting aspect of this thought is that nothing in life is ever truly lost. Every act of goodness, every sincere effort, every sacrifice, every moment of compassion, and every selfless deed is recorded somewhere in this invisible account. Likewise, every harmful action carries its own entry and consequence.
The lesson is simple yet profound: focus less on immediate results and more on the quality of your actions. Results may take time to appear, but in the flawless accounting system of the universe, every entry is eventually settled.
After all, the most reliable balance sheet we will ever carry is not the one in our banks or businesses — it is the one created by our karma.
And in that ledger, every action counts.
